This is the homepage of the SportSURF research network.

For details of any forthcoming events, or to join the network, please contact Dr Paul Fleming: sportsurf@lboro.ac.uk, or directly at p.r.fleming@lboro.ac.uk, Loughborough University.

SportSURF was set up in 2005 with support from the EPSRC and became self-funded in 2008. The network aims to stimulate multidisciplinary research to address the challenges associated with the science and practice regarding interactions of sport players and sports surfaces.

The network comprises a broad range of stakeholders including academics, practitioners and sports governing bodies. The network currently has approximately 250 members from around the world from many different disciplines.

Events and conferences are focussed on sub-topics to share ideas and consolidate current knowledge, discuss and formulate research needs, disseminate project outcomes and collaborate on seeking funding.

The network has, to date, hosted 9 workshops between 2005 and 2016, and two international conferences in 2007 and 2010. Details, including presentations and reports from these events, can be found using the menu above.

In addition, the network has supported initiatives from ISEA, including the ISEA International Conference in 2014.
